What does that actually mean to a broker?
-
What is the Lofty MCP Server?+ -
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI agents connect to external systems. The Lofty MCP Server exposes Lofty's platform through that standard, so an MCP-compatible AI agent can securely read and act on your brokerage's live data — leads, notes, tasks, transactions, communications, calendars, team and routing configuration, custom fields and more.
-
How is this different from the AI already built into Lofty?+ -
They solve different problems. Lofty AOS gives every agent Agentic AI out of the box — embedded, proactive, and requiring no prompting, integrations or AI expertise. Lofty MCP is for brokerages building their own AI capabilities: it lets your technology team connect their own agents and proprietary workflows to the data that powers your business. Most brokerages use both.
-
Is my brokerage's data secure?+ -
Yes. MCP access runs through the same authentication and authorization controls as the underlying Lofty API. An agent connects as an authenticated user and can only access what that user's permissions allow — nothing more. You are not granting blanket access to your database.
-
How many operations are available through MCP?+ -
Lofty currently exposes 123 API operations through MCP, spanning leads, notes, tasks, transactions, communications, calendars, team and routing configuration, custom fields and more.
-
Which AI agents can connect to Lofty MCP?+ -
Any MCP-compatible AI agent. That includes assistants your brokerage may already use as well as custom agents your team builds. Because MCP is an open standard, you are not locked into a single AI vendor.
-
Do I need a developer to use Lofty MCP?+ -
To build custom agents and proprietary workflows, yes — Lofty MCP is designed for brokerages with technical resources and sophisticated enterprise use cases. Agents who simply want AI that works for them do not need MCP: that is what Lofty AOS provides out of the box.
